The Democracks have repeatedly proclaimed that the current economic mess is all the Republican party's (and President Bush's) fault. Obama and the other Dems are simply stepping in trying to mop up the mess.

Right.

Then why did the in-power Democrats allow AIG to take such a ridiculous amount of tax payer dollars and pay out enormous bonuses to the exact people who steered the company into turmoil and ruin? Maybe I missed something, but normally I don't think we should reward people who steer a company into financial collapse and ruin - let alone give them giant financial bonuses!

It's typical of the Democratic party to point the finger when things aren't going well, but when they screw up royally, will they admit fault? I doubt it. They're of course trying to backtrack and "recover the money" for the bonuses, but perhaps if they had spent a little time planning out the billions they were handing out to these Wall Street crooks, we wouldn't have this problem now.
