The Blair Holt's Bill, also known as H.R. 45, was introduced into congress a few months ago, and now the democrats are actively pushing it to gain support for more gun control. Nancy Pelosi went on Good Morning America last week and said she didn't want to take Americans' guns away, but did want to regulate them more strictly.

H. R. 45 is a bill that aims to enforce a list of harsher restrictions on gun owners. Some people see these new restrictions as a way to better protect the innocent, while others see it for what it really is: a way for the government to keep tabs on firearms and potentially confiscate them.

Historically, some democratic nation have confiscated and/or banned firearms throughout the country. This can be seen a modern day England where the police carry little more than nightsticks.

Even though our Constitution's Second Amendment forbids such a practice, leave it to the politicians to find loopholes around what the founding fathers intended. The bill doesn't suggest firearms should one day be banned, but with such a long list of restrictions, it's easy to tell where democrats are going with this.

Some restrictions in the bill include: a required safety exam, inspection of your home, release of mental records, background checks, ban of private sales, notification when changing addresses, submitting a thumbprint, submitting a photo of yourself, and a requirement to report a lost or stolen firearm.

Failure to abide by these laws can result in as little as a fine, or as much as several years in prison.

One of the major requirements of the new bill isn't something gun owners will be required to do, but something that the government will be doing with the information. The government will set up a Federal Record of Sale system that keeps track of all of the information, so when the government wants to confiscate firearms, they'll have your photo, name and address to track you down quickly and take what they want.

This goes directly against what our forefathers had in mind. They gave us the right to keep and bare arms so we could defend ourselves against things just like this. When the government steps over their boundaries and try and take away our ability to defend ourselves, it's easy to see that our country is in real trouble.
