Sarah Palin Pays $500k for Protection

Democrats in Alaska have filed at least nine ethics complaints against Gov. Sarah Palin since the presidential election ended.

Six of the complaints have already been thrown out, but each one of the complaints forces Palin to spend more money on lawyers. She has to have a team of attorneys on retainer and must go to them every time a complaint is filed.

The cost of these attorneys has totaled more than half a million dollars, and the money comes out of Palin's pocket. The salary for the governor of Alaska is $125,000, and even if you add her husband's salary to that, the total only comes out to about $210,000 a year.

Palin can't afford all of these attacks, and that's exactly what the democrats are banking on. Their goal is obviously to bankrupt Palin and her family.

This campaign to bankrupt her might work if she didn't have any friends to help her out, but fortunately she has some supporters. Palin has mentioned she might need to create a legal fund and if she does, she won't be lacking in donations.

The democrats are causing problems for more people than just Palin with this stunt. When they force Palin to fight against these ethics violations, she doesn't have as much time to run the state.

These democrats are hurting the entire state of Alaska, and for what? To get back at a figure they see as a threat to their party? I know politics can get nasty, but when they are detrimental to society, people need to stop.

There needs to be limits in politics, or else politician will spend so much time attacking each other that nothing will get done. We can already begin to see that happening.
